Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a leading and fast-growing power company in its search for a Construction Paralegal. This is a direct hire role out of the company’s Houston, Texas offices. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant experience (2 years minimum in construction law either in a law firm setting or construction company); big law firm experience preferred.

The company prefers the candidate to reside in Houston where its headquarters are (hybrid schedule is a possibility); however, qualified candidates outside of Texas will be considered to work on a remote basis.

Primary duties of the Construction Paralegal include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to in-house legal department concerning energy development and construction projects;
  • Establishing and maintaining records for the company and its subsidiaries;
  • Preparing, reviewing, and filing construction, regulatory, and transactional documents;
  • Administering and managing submittals to regulatory agencies and transaction counterparties;
  • Preparing meeting notices, checklists, and managing internal legal and regulatory compliance calendars;
  • Interacting regularly with other departments, including construction, origination, development, operations, EHS and contracts;
  • Performing other duties, as needed.
  • Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.

The successful Construction Paralegal will have:

  • 7+ years of experience (2 years minimum in construction law either in a law firm setting or construction company); big law firm experience preferred;
  • Experience in the energy industry is a plus!;
  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred;
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, Workshare, and Microsoft Office;
  • Knowledge of construction, development, energy, and environmental regulatory and governmental agencies;
  • Applied experience in compliance;
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work in fast-paced environment;
  • Independent thinking skills and ability to take lead on projects, coordinating work of professionals and technicians, on an as-needed basis;
  • Notary or willingness to complete notary requirements.
