Description
Trustpoint. One is partnered with a nationally recognized plaintiffs’ litigation firm seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Sexual Abuse Practice to join one of the firm’s busiest and most impactful practice groups. This practice exclusively handles sexual abuse matters and requires someone who can operate with professionalism, compassion, and strong organizational skills.
This is an urgent need. The group’s lead paralegal—who was also a full-time evening law student—recently gave notice, creating a significant gap on a team that is already extremely active.
About the Team:
- Led by a highly respected litigator in the sexual abuse space.
- Team handles all sexual abuse cases for the firm.
- Currently consists of 3 attorneys and 4 legal assistants/paralegals
- The team is extremely busy and plays a critical role in the firm’s litigation pipeline.
Why They’re Hiring:
Due to the recent departure of a senior paralegal and overall practice volume, the team needs immediate support.
The firm is also considering shifting a staff member internally. Should that internal move happen, they will then backfill the other team with a more junior hire—meaning there are multiple open roles across levels.
Ideal Background:
The firm is open to two experience lanes:
- Senior-level candidate: 7–10 years of plaintiff-side or litigation experience.
- Mid-level candidate: 3–4 years of experience.
Because of workload and staffing structure, they realistically need to hire at both levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide litigation support to attorneys handling sexual abuse cases.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, and case correspondence.
- Manage client communication with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Maintain, organize, and track case files, medical records, and sensitive documents.
- Assist with trial preparation and case development as needed.
- Support the workflow of the Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Sexual Abuse Practice alongside the existing team.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Prior experience supporting a litigation practice (plaintiff-side experience preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong drafting, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- A high level of empathy, discretion, and professionalism when interacting with survivors.
- Ability to collaborate in a tight-knit team with a mission-driven culture.
Additional Requirement for All Firm Roles:
All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time. Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
