Trustpoint One is pleased to assist a full service law firm in its search for a Litigation Legal Assistant in the firm’s Indianapolis office. The successful candidate will possess filing experience and will support litigation attorneys within the firm.  The position offers long term development and growth.

Litigation Legal Assistant Responsibilities:

 -      Exhibit outstanding client service orientation in greeting guests, scheduling meetings, and conducting telephone conferences.

-      Display strong attention to detail.

-      Proactively support attorneys.

-      Respond to requests with a sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes work.

-      Prepare and review letters and memoranda according to Firm standards using word processing and document management systems.

-      Proactively calendar and monitor deadlines.

-      Process requests for payment and reimbursements.

-      Enter attorney billable hours into the firm billing program.

-      Create, maintain and retire files in accordance with Taft’s Information Governance Policy.

-      Assist in managing client contacts, emails, and print documents as well as processing mail.

-      Clearly communicates in a concise, professional manner.

-      Transcribe dictation.

-      File documents with the courts electronically.

-      Draft documents and filings.

Qualifications:

-      2- 3 minimum years’ of related experience in a law firm or legal setting.

-      High school diploma or equivalent.

-      Some coursework related to the legal industry preferred.

-      Working knowledge of small claims court and/or eviction hearings, including damage hearings in Hendricks, Hamilton and Perry Township, Marion County preferred.

-      Knowledge of plaintiff and defense civil litigation matters and drafting of sewer easements preferred.

-      Knowledge of recording documents with County Recorder’s Offices and standard rules of Civil Procedure preferred.

-      Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
