Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a multi-specialty, mid-size law firm in its search for a Litigation Paralegal to support its Healthcare Team. This is a direct hire position for the firm's Atlanta, GA offices and is a hybrid role after training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Healthcare Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for paralegal support of multiple lawyers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs or particular client or case demands.

  • Prepare and draft legal documents for attorney review, including memoranda, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery responses, correspondence and other communications from the supervising attorney(s) to others.
  • Provide trial and/or hearing support, including timeline preparation, exhibit preparation, etc.
  • Learn and utilize in-house and outsourced eDiscovery programs.
  • Track and schedule deadlines in multiple matters; calendar deadlines, depositions, hearings, trials, and other events; learn and use deadline management software such as Prolaw.
  • Organization of and ability to work with medical records.
  • File maintenance, including desk-site and paper filing, updating files with pleadings, correspondence, etc.
  • Input billable time into the firm's billing system.
  • Document review and production, including bates labeling.
  • Perform legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, and legal codes.
  • Learn and use litigation software programs; use Firm's contracted provider of internet legal research (e.g. Lexis Nexis or Westlaw).
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, including preparing witness files, exhibits, demonstrative exhibits, and other materials; prepare for and attend trial and arbitration; (travel may be required).
  • Work with onsite and outside vendors for services, such as copy services, scanning, document production, electronic discovery and other litigation technology services, courier services, court reporting services, document recording services.
  • Work with other staff and attorneys at the firm with a positive, cooperative and team-oriented attitude.
  • Schedule conference rooms.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • aptitude with Relativity, Reveal or other eDiscovery programs,
  • IPRO, Adobe Acrobat (or other similar viewer), and similar litigation support software applications;
  • excellent spelling and grammar;
  • positive interpersonal skills and ability to work productively as part of a team;
  • professional phone skills;
  • excellent organization skills;
  • ability to set and manage priorities;
  • ability to meet deadlines;
  • ability to multi-task;
  • attention to detail on all projects, including ability to carefully proof own work;
  • positive attitude.
  • Insurance defense experience a plus.
