Fantastic direct hire opportunity available with one of Trustpoint.One / Kelly Legal Resources’ corporate clients in Southfield! We are looking for a Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal with Chapter 11 experience to handle and prepare critical legal pleadings, engagement letters and documents, in support of our client’s Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice. This is a wonderful opportunity for candidates who meet the qualifications listed below.

 

Duties

  • Manage processes and prepare documents required for retention in Chapter 11 matters; assist with getting such retention approved in Bankruptcy matters
  • Prepare, manage and develop engagement letters related to turnaround and restructuring services, using SpringCM engagement letter tool
  • Understand and formulate disclosures required in Chapter 11 matters and ensuring proper supplementation of such disclosures; advise on parties in interest matters and related disclosures
  • Prepare supplemental declarations, certifications and similar documents
  • Create and maintain internal reports to track status and requirements in Chapter 11 engagements
  • Review, revise and finalize NDAs and confidentiality agreements
  • Assist with management and production of Court filings in Chapter 11 matters
  • Conduct document retrieval, research and tracing/confirming retention filings

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required; paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program highly desired
  • Experience in large Chapter 11 cases required
  • Experience drafting retention pleadings in Chapter 11 cases required
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a professional services firm or in-house Legal department highly preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with the Legal, Compliance and Risk Team, professionals in the field, as well as outside legal counsel
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate detailed and complex information to others
  • Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, including responding to urgent situations as needed
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills
  • Ability to handle confidential, sensitive information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
