Trustpoint.One has partnered with our client, a Metro Detroit firm, on their need for a Senior Tax Attorney/Counsel. The right candidate for this role would possess a strong business and legal background related to Taxation matters. This a permanent/direct hire opportunity offering a competitive compensation package and benefits, with responsibilities that will include - Counseling clients on state and local taxes matters - including income, capital gains, sales and use and real estate taxes; drafting of documents related to, and advise on matters such as - choice of entity, tax matters associated with M&A and capital market transactions, and business start-ups. It is also helpful to possess prior experience with international taxation matters.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school; LL.M. in Taxation is helpful but not required
CPA license is preferred
Licensed (and in good standing) with the State of Michigan
10+ years’ related experience, providing counsel in all areas of Tax law
**This role is currently remote, but will be expected to eventually return to the firm's office**
